I always loved Guardians of the Galaxy & Jim Valentino's artwork. So I'd been on the lookout for a page for a while.
As Bill C. points out, Guardians frequently opened with a double page spread or splash.
The Surfer is one of my favorite characters. I'd been after this page for a few years. I kept it as the desktop background on my computer for a long time before I actually got it.

A handwritten note on the back says
"PLEASE RETURN TO JIM

Please, in order to maintain the "joke"'s integrity -- we need the background effect to be colored similarly to this example. Thanx"

Anyone know what the example or joke might be?!
