Description

I was fortunate enough to commission a recreation of one of the most ridiculous panels in comic history from the late Herb Trimpe.

This is one of the most infamous.

AVENGERS Vol 1 #213 contained the slap heard round the world, a panel that would forever define the character of Hank Pym. Jim Shooter claims that this was not in the original script, and that Bob Hall was just doing his job as a Marvel artist and making his work as dynamic as possible. The result, Shooter claims, overdid it.

So here was a chance for both Mr. Hall and Ms. Van Dyne to have their respective revenge, in a panel recreated with the positions reversed. "What If..?"

(I briefly considered having Jan dressed as the Wasp and Hank Pym in his underwear, but I thought that might be a bridge too far...)
