Description

The Phantom by Ian Nichols from Gem City Con 2016. I had wanted to get a Phantom sketch for a while and saw that Ian was coming to Gem City this year. It just so happened that shortly before the show Paul Ryan who drew the Phantom for the newspaper had pasted away. I did not realized that Paul was Ian's mentor when I asked him to draw the sketch. Ian got emotional and filled me in on the details of his relationship with Paul. I am grateful to have been able to hear Ian's stories about Paul and to get this sketch which is a great tribute to a great artist.
