Description

I formally commissioned this sketch card from Nik at NYCC, and went with this character based on the art she did for the lamentably cancelled Hyperion series.

Blurgon is from "Risk-Your-Life Arcade." He's a character from a pinball game called "Worm Wars." The object of the game is to keep Blurgon, who is the King of Worms, fed by feeding him pinballs (which are decorated so they look like little balls of worms). Depending on the ending, the reader will either be thrown into a life-sized version of Worm Wars and encounter the real Blurgon, or will watch as the bully character is sucked into the pinball machine and turned into the new Blurgon. There is no good ending that doesn't involve someone dead.

I've just always really loved how creepy the cover art for the book was and I lament that it took me so long to purchase it. Nik made the worms on his head different colors for added creepiness.
