DescriptionDave Sim was pushing hard in many areas to get out as a comic artist when he was in his late teens and early 20s, in the time before and during when Cerebus was starting up.In 1976-78, Larry Johnson (Lynski) put out two issues of a fanzine called "Eaglestar," featuring "EURO ('Swift are the Galactic Winds') of Koraphae, and the apparent threat of Quaos ("From Beyond Came Quaos"), one of many massive library computers that roam the galaxy in search of alien empires. In the second issue, Dave Sim, Gene Day, Tom Sutton and others are listed as part of the Art Department at Eaglestar (also the name of the company). Dave contributed this one-page pin-up of "Quaos terrorizing a rim world in the days of the first empire." You can see the cover, the TOC, the editorial where this is talked about, the pin-up (in context), and just for fun, the Gene Day back cover, in the additional images. Social/Sharing |
