Description
This spectacular painting by Gabriel Mayorga illustrates the cover story "Juice" by L. Sprague De Camp. It was published in Super Science Stories - May 1940. The artist did only a small hand full of paintings in the field, notably for Super Science Stories and Astonishing Stories, and this, in all likelihood is the only known example to survive.

The imagery is indeed "pure pulp" but the colors give it an almost modern sheen. It's a shame that this is probably the only surviving example as I would love to see more.
