Description

I saw Babs' artwork while looking through the exhibitors list for MoCCA Fest and I was determined to get something nice and creepy from her.

Patua is from one of the lesser known Dario Argento movies, "Phenomena," which starred Jennifer Connolly and Donald Pleasence. It's about a girl who gets sent to a European boarding school and finds herself immersed in a murder mystery as people are brutally killed in the area surrounding her school. Patua, seen in the sketch, is a deformed and psychotically violent boy conceived during a violent gang rape. His mother, Frau Bruckner, keeps him chained up in her home, but when he gets out and murders people, she disposes of the bodies in a maggot infested pool built in their basement. Despite "Phenomena" not being one of the more famous Argento horror films, it helped inspire the "Clock Tower" video game series with Patua being the basis for the design of the Scissorman.

Babs used gold leaf for his eyes. I was floored by how amazing this sketch is.
