I imagine Loki saying something like 'wait for my signal and kill them all'. I had seen Matteo draw Loki with ravens in another commission so I asked for something like that but with the serpent instead. It's a great choice by Matteo to have them face to face which I would never have thought to request. I also like how he chose to not show how big the serpent actually is but instead just have the weight of its body disappear off the bottom of the page. Look at how the curves of the serpent's tongue mirror the curve of Loki's horns. Many thanks to Jason at Essential Sequential for arranging this one.

I look at this inking technique and am just blown away. The textures and the confidence. Absolutely no fear in this man. Plants, fur, leather... Doesn't matter. He throws it down fast and he knows it's gonna be beautiful. Love this!

Ha ha, it's two I commissioned for myself with the serpent and two I picked up elsewhere. I might not commission another but I'd still be tempted if anyone else's became available...
