Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig (Corny Concerto) by Virgil Ross

      I once saw animator Virgil Ross at an animation gallery in the 1990's when limited edition cels were popular. I've been seeing these color pencil Ross pieces turn up at Howard Lowery and Heritage for some time. Some didn't seem to have much to do with Ross's actual history at the studio, but this one seemed to fit. Corny Concerto (September 25, 1942) is a take off on Disney's Fantasia. Ross worked for director Bob Clampett and specialized in musical scenes. Porky and his hunting dog are looking for rabbits. Bugs appears in drag as a ballerina and feigns death when Porky shoots his gun. When the duo approach, Bugs turns the tables on them.
