Description

Every once in awhile I get to tell a good story to go along with an art pick up. This is one of them. A couple weeks back I had posted that I had missed out on this wonderful Doctor Strange piece by Joe Sinnott and Neil Vokes offered on ebay through the Inkwell Awards. I forgot to place a bid before going to bed and that was that. The piece sold for a ridiculously low price also.

After that happened I contacted Bob Almond to let him know if the winner changed his mind to give me a shout. I had no expectations that would happen.

A couple days ago I was checking new art at Comic Art Fans and decided to check my email box there(as I rarely do), to find a message from the buyer( Bob had contacted him after all). He told me he had another piece that he was putting together funds for and was willing to part with the Doctor Strange if I still wanted it.

Expecting him to go much higher that what he paid at auction, he told me he would sell it to me for what he had paid on ebay,( again, a crazy low price). I was completely blown away by his generosity.

My thanks to member Filmore W. Bedwick for parting with this and making my Doctor Strange gallery that much better.!

Glad you liked it! I never tire of drawing the good Doc and Inkwell's annual Sinnott "Challenge" gave me another chance to do just that - I hope Joe didn't mind me almost totally changing his loose layouts and adding a tom of Ditko inspired bits and pieces...;o) -Neil
