Brian Kesinger - Lil Kylo and Vader Commission

I managed to get on Brian's list a second time and this was a piece I was really keen on.

Like many of us, I just fell in love with Bill Watterson's humour and the soul he put into these characters.

The strip that this is based on is one of my favourites of all the published strips. It had never been really very apparent to me that Hobbes was a toy even though it had been depicted multiple times in other strips. But this was the one where I really realised Calvin's innocence and how he lived in his own world.

I saw the parralel's in Brian's work and realised that Lil Kylo really just wanted a best friend. Brian was able to pull off the art based on the original strip and the text came from me (after Bill of course).
