I'm really glad I was able to get a Mantis sketch by Joe Staton. Not only am I a huge fan of Joes' work, but he was one of the artists on "The Celestial Madonna Saga" way back when, providing the finishes for Avengers #127-134. Years later he once again drew Mantis when he penciled Avengers: Celestial Quest #7.

Joe drew this at the Five Points Festival comic con in Manhattan. It's a very nice piece. I like how Joe gave Mantis a slightly more cartoony look, a style similar to the one he currently utilizes to great effect on the Dick Tracy newspaper strip.
