Description
Simpsons creator Matt Groening's dad Homer opened an ad agency in Portland, Oregon in 1958 following his return from the Korean War. He also did cartoons for a short period for local papers The Oregonian and Northwest Magazine.

The gag caption here is "In one sense our furnace is automatic-he is going to put coal in it now."
