Description

Graphite pencil on 8.5 x 11 vellum board.

I came across this piece on eBay and had to get it. I love the strong posture, the intense gaze, and the flowing hair. I really dig the shading, too, check out the area around her neck and shoulder and the muscle definition on her upper arm. Reminds me a bit of Leinil Yu�s work.

I didn�t know anything about the artist, only credited as �Noora�, but when I asked the seller he could tell me that his name is Rodel Noora. He used to work in comics back in the �90s and then in one of the biggest animation studios in the Philippines in the �00s. Turns out his credits include penciling an issue of Todd McFarlane�s Spawn together with Philip Tan. Pretty cool!
