Description

Shiro was the main character from a short story called "Excuse Me For Being A Dog" by Rumiko Takahashi. It was reprinted in Viz's "Rumic Theater: One or Double" collection. The story is like some odd precursor to her two series "Ranma 1/2" and "One Pound Gospel."

Shiro's cursed to turn into a dog whenever his blood flow is stimulated, like the rest of the men in his family. In his case it happens whenever he gets a bloody nose. Even in human form Shiro retains some dog traits, like a heightened sense of smell and a fondness for dog snacks. Shiro gets drafted in his new school's martial arts club and finds himself in a boxing match to defend a girl he likes. Surprisingly, the story has a happy ending.
