Element Lad and Sean/Shvaughn Erin

So many of the Five Years Later stories blew my mind, but the story of Jan Arrah and Sean/Shvaughn Erin in Legion of Superheroes vol. 4, #31, beautifully drawn by Colleen Doran and Curt Swan, is the one that has stayed with me. It's depiction of love, gender, and sexuality was unlike anything in comics at the time.

There are a lot of great artists in comics, but Doran is a true master, and I was so honored when she agreed to revisit this story as a commission. The finished pencils are impossible to capture in a scan.
