Heroes Con 2016 Journal pages 17-18

I had the pleasure of meeting Jared Cullum at SPX this year. My only familiarity with his work prior to this was based on two amazing and very large paintings he had done for the Heroes Con auction over the last couple of years. At SPX he had a number of gorgeous watercolor paintings for sale. This one was from a self published journal comic he produced chronicling his experiences at Heroes Con.

I think the sentiments expressed in the work echo those of many artists and fans who return to Heroes year after year. For what it's worth, I find SPX - though very different from Heroes in both size and focus - to be very much cut from the same cloth.
