Description

(Miramax Pictures/View Askew Productions) (April 4, 1997) The description that you're about to read chronicles a rather unique & incredibly memorable example of crossover memorabilia targeted to "BOTH" Comic Book Art & Original "SCREEN-USED" Movie Prop aficionados.

If you're a comic book buff and/or a fan of American popular culture in-general for which if you're reading this now on the CAF website you most likely "ARE", than you are most certainly familiar with the 3rd cinematic installment in Kevin Smith's "View Askewniverse 'NEW JERSEY' Saga" titled: "CHASING AMY".

Many fans of this specific Kevin Smith film find great fondness for the movie's introductory scene which includes "ME" as well, which features a Q & A session between Comic Book Creators at the podium and their Adoring Fans in the audience which includes "Holden McNeil" (as played by a very young, Ben Affleck) & "Banky Edwards" (as played by an equally young, Jason Lee).

Unbeknownst to the Comic Con's audience that this is actually a publicity stunt, "Hooper X" (as played by Dwight Ewell) is seen at the podium passionately promoting many things; some of which are quite controversial, one of which is his new comic book, "White Hating Coon #1".

Spotlighted behind Hopper X on a video screen is his cover to "White Hating Coon #1" which is a satircal homage to the cover of "Action Comics #1" featuring the 1st Appearance of Superman by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster. The original cover art to "White Hating Coon #1" was in reality penciled by Joe Quesada & inked by Jimmy Palmiotti.

While Hooper X is in fact seen at one point during his Convention tirade holding-up a "PROP COPY" of "White Hating Coon #1", I have "NOT" as of yet found or confirmed the existence of this specific "PROP COPY" or any other so-called prop editions of "White Hating Coon #1" that survived post-production of "CHASING AMY". That being said, if anyone can assist me in clarifying this info which would help me in tracking-down an actualy "PROP COPY" of "White Hating Coon #1" to accompany my original cover art, it would be greatly appreciated;-)

As you see from the posted image of “White Hating Coon #1”, I also have it personally signed by Penciller, Joe Quesada & Inker, Jimmy Palmiotti as well as Actor, Jason Mewes and by Director, Writer, & Actor, Kevin Smith:-)

Crazy piece of movie history! Loved Chasing Amy. Especially love the tracer's effort on this piece. Big congrats!

Thanks, Duke:-) Out of all of Kevin Smith's "Jersey Saga" films, I personally feel that "Chasing Amy" is an all-around classic amongst the others; most especially because the comic book/comic book art subject matter is so relatable;-)
