Beauty in Moonlight

This is a piece that I'm very proud of. Back in the summer, my best friend of 14 years commissioned a very unique composition from me. It's the first time she and her husband ever did that. A girl on a hilltop before a moonlit sky sounds basic enough, right? But this had to be in pencil portrait style, something I hadn't done for a long time. So it was a refresher course as well as the incorporation of charcoal techniques. I also had to YouTube how to render grass. What I'm most proud of is that this figure has the least photo reference for the figure. I'm extremely proud of the final result. Given the size - 18 x 24" Canon mixed media paper - it's the largest work I've ever done and I couldn't think of anyone better to do it for.
