Description
This 24" x 35" original acrylic painting by former Disney Imagineer Eric Robison was used to make a limited-edition lithograph in 1999 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion theme park attraction. Fittingly titled "Tribute to the Haunted Mansion," Disney released 150 prints of the artwork, which were sold exclusively at the Disney Gallery on Main Street, U.S.A.

The impressionistic application of bright but moody colors harkens back to the look and feel of the ride's early promotional material. Keen eyes may just spot some of the mansion's 999 ghouls lurking among the shadows!

A graduate from Art Center College of Design, Robison started out in 1987 as a show concept designer for Disney Parks around the world up until the mid-1990s, when he then transitioned to becoming a full-time commercial artist for the company, his original works appearing on lithographs, giclée prints, posters, pins, note cards, and other souvenir merchandise.

In addition to the Haunted Mansion, Robison has done paintings based on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the Pirates of the Caribbean, and Splash Mountain.

To commemorate Walt Disney's centennial birthday, the Disney Gallery held a one-man exhibition called "100 Mickeys," showcasing 100 of Robison's pop-inspired depictions of the famous mouse, which took him more than a year to complete.

He has also done projects for Universal Studios, Warner Bros., motion pictures such as Jumanji (1995), the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and Activision.
