JLA/Avengers: Slaveship of Asgard by Oliver Isabedra and colored by Jang. Wow. One of my all-time favorite pieces. Interesting story about this art. When I first commissioned Oliver to do the JLAAvenger Forever piece I didn't really have a clear vision of what I wanted, only who I wanted in it. The initial thumbnail for forever looked great but I thought the end result was a bit cluttered. Still I was ok with it. By my good fortune though Oliver had a shipping company ship the art for him and they screwed up by mailing it to me in a Tyvek envelope. (nothing inside rigid to keep it safe) When it arrived is looked like it had been waded up and then re-flattened out. I showed it to Oliver thanks to my brothers awesome digital camera and he filed a claim. In turn he offered to do another one for me at no charge. We'll this time I had a clearer vision. And he nailed the idea. It even turns out he was in bed sick as he illustrated it. The idea was simple: have Kanjar Ro and his slaveship delivering the JLA and Avengers to Asgard as a gift to Lord Odin from his crazy son Loki. Thankfully Adam Strange hears what's up and summons both Thor and the Vision to help. The enslaved heroes rowing the cosmic oars are Quicksilver, Flash, Batman, Captain America, Firestorm, Ironman, Captain Marvel, Green Lantern, Hawkeye, Green Arrow, Red Tornado, Scarlet Witch, Superman, Hercules, Namor and Aquaman. And of course the lovely Wonder Woman is tied to the ships mast. Oliver just blew me away with this art and then the colorist Jang did the same. How cool is that rainbow bridge?
