DescriptionThis wonderful Sam Norkin illustration appeared in the New York Herald Tribune on March 2, 1947, and features the cast of the Broadway show, "The Importance of Being Earnest", which ran at the Royale Theatre in NYC. The show starred the great John Gielgud, as pictured in the center of the illustration. There is a definite Hirschfeld vibe to the illustration, and the design of the piece is just wonderful.Social/Sharing |

Really nice, indeed! I didn't know S. Norkin before seeing some of his pieces in your collection. He was really good, not far from Hirschfeld. Thank you!
