Description

Following up from the Blazing Bow commission nanihoo did for me, and because March always depresses me on the grounds I'm constantly reminded "Rise of Arsenal" came out March 2010, I had her commission Earth-27B's version of Lian Harper.

Sunbeam is Lian Begay, daughter of Roy "Blazing Bow" Begay and Jade "Queen of Hearts" Nguyen. Like her father, Lian's Navajo by blood on this Earth and shares her adopted grandfather's last name. She's essentially the first true "Speedy" of this world.

Lian helps her father fight crime on the reservation, though he's adamant about making sure she's properly protected and doesn't bring her along to truly dangerous situations. Her costume is meant to be more superhero-y than her dad's. They also do charity work for the community.

Lian has two siblings, her baby sister Phoebe Begay via her stepmom Donna "Etain" Troy-Begay, and her younger brother Tommy "Knave of Hearts" Nguyen via her biological mom. Lian's super protective of Phoebe but views Tommy as something of a nuisance she loves deep down even though he's constantly picking fights with her.

Lian's a founding member of the Super-Stars alongside Batclaw (Rachel Grayson), Typhoon (Koryak), Swan Maiden (Vanessa Kapatelis), and the Twister Kid (Tanaka Rei).
