DescriptionSo why two Clayfaces, by the same artist no less?Well, for the first half of the story, check out the previous post (Clayface). As for the rest of it: When Eric had finished the first Clayface, we agreed that he'd send it out to me when he had the time. So I patiently waited. For two months. When I hadn't heard anything, I reached to Eric (knowing he's a forgetful guy), to hear how things were coming along. And he said that he wanted to do a color Clayface for me too! Naturally, I was thrilled! And then nothing happened. For five months. Until I managed to catch a little of Eric's stream one night, while up with my newborn daughter. We chatted a little during the stream and I reached out to Eric the next day, politely asking if he still wanted to do the color Clayface he had mentioned, or if we should just leave it at the ink one he had already done. And, swayed by the news of my daughter, Eric said he'd love to do the piece! Which he then did the next night, as I watched along on stream, with my infant daughter watching along/sleeping in my arms. I am beyond estatic over how great this turned out! There are so many awesome details in it, that just makes me happy every time I look at it. A HUGE round of thanks to Eric for doing these awesome pieces for me. He is a very busy guy, with real work and actual paid-for commissions to do. He didn't owe me anything, as no money had changed hands yet, but he still came through and did some amazing pieces of art for my collection! Another big round of thanks to his art dealer, Jason Schachter, for giving me a very fair price on these two pieces, that grew way beyond a simple pen test ;-) (Additional image is a prelim for the finished piece. It's virtually the same, except Eric drew it too low on the paper, so there wasn't room for the full piece. So he flipped it over and started again. One of the joys of watching the artist actually draw your piece, over Twitch ;-) ) Social/Sharing |
