DescriptionF.(Francis) G.(Gilbert) Attwood (1856-1900) was an early contributor to LIFE magazine, who made his bones as an early Harvard Lampoon editor while a student. During his lifetime, he was referred to as the American John Leech, referencing the great British cartoonist. This cartoon illustration was published in the March 1898 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine and is related the Dreyfus Affair, which was not resolved until after Attwood's death.Social/Sharing |
