Pérez, George: Robin

This is one of two pieces for which I wasn't actually present in their execution; my good pal Guy Dorian, Sr. brought this to a show I couldn't attend, with the instructions to present Pérez with an image of a proposed updated costume for Dick Grayson that was published in a comic publication in the early 80s. It was an amalgam of the "Disco Nightwing" outfit and the New Titans Robin look, and I loved (and still love) it; I imagine merchandising nixed the idea, though.

I learned later that Guy pulled some strings for this to be the first piece that Pérez did at the show and, had he not done so, he was too swamped with requests to actually get to it. Seeing this piece for the first time was like Christmas morning, or the first night of Chanukah; Pérez really killed it on this one. Would have loved to see him draw it, but oh well.
