Johnston and Magwood Wheels and Tires Mural Wall B

While not in sequence, this is the second in a three-wall-project in the work area of Johnston and Magwood Wheels and Tires, located at 700 Burmanthorpe Rd. in Mississauga, Ontario. The property owner requested that I not "reinvent the wheel" and give the pre-existing image a facelift. That being said, the only modifications I made to the composition were the colors on the vehicle and the details on the mechanics. Using the creative liberty I had, I decided to show diversity and eccentricity with the pit crew. Thus, the character in the foreground I call Old Skool is a guy that is in his 40s but stuck in the 90s through the fade hairstyle and gold caps in his teeth. I admittedly used some of my own features for the guy in the back but with red hair and less detail to show distance. Since there was already a #7 on the side of the car, I decided to both put a bigger one on the hood and write the name "Lucky Seven" in French on the side of the car. Rendered in Acrylic and oil paint pen, this went quicker and was finished just under a month. Given this was the central shot, I had to make it a Johnston and Magwood-owned car, hence the accents on the awning of the windshield and the details of the pit crew's jump suits. I'm very proud of this mural because I was able to bring out the most in so little flexibility with regards to composition and time.
