Description

One of the toughest characters to figure out a concept for for this book was Jamm.

While I love Bloodlines he's one of the more awkward characters. Introduced in the Legion of Superheroes Annual #4 his powers were well the ability to control anyone who he spoke to with complete control over them. Making him one of the most powerful New Bloods created in the event.

While he hardly did anything approaching it he became somewhat infamous as "The Date Rape Superhero" as he made a few of the female Legionnaires take off their clothes for fun. Perhaps wisely the story took place almost entirely in the Legion's time where that... raised only eyebrows from the Legionnaires rather than anyone pointing out the fairly obvious sexual harassment/assault that constitutes.

But in slight fairness he had them remove their clothes with about the same vigor he had in getting Mon-El to party with him. So at the very least he didn't do anything maliciously (and by the end of the story was scared straight by Shadow Lass).

That being said I eventually thought up the idea that as someone who can control minds with his voice he more than likely is immune to that power similarly from others. So the idea of him facing off against Music Meister in a music match to save or control the heroes would be a fun battle. Plus the two's designs make for a fun clash. The classily dressed supervillain versus the sloppily dudebro beatnik California design of Jamm makes for a fun visual.

I bought this piece at this year's Flamecon from the very fun Jorell Rivera whom I've followed on twitter for a fair while. Love their work on it. :D
