The book
Fallout is written and published by
Jim Ottaviani. The art is by award winning artists Janine Johnston (Poison Elves), Steve Lieber (Whiteout, Batman), Vince Locke (Deadworld, Sandman), Bernie Mireault (Mackenzie Queen, The Jam, Grendel Tales), Jeff Parker (Interman, Robin) with Chris Kemple, Eddy Newell, and a painted cover by noted Studio artist Jeffrey Jones. The book came out in November 2001. I got the book signed by Jim and Seve at the Alternative Press Expo in February 2002. Steve Lieber signed the book with a sketch of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Jim's early books like
Two-Fisted Science and
Dignifying Science were published by his own GT Labs imprint. Since then, he's found a good home at
First Second Books for the new age of the graphic novel. Look for

Primates with Maris Wicks, and the upcoming
Hawking with Leland Myrick.
Steve Lieber is a contributor to the
San Diego Comic-Con Toucan blog. They provide this biography: "Steve Lieber studied art at the Joe Kubert School. His comics and illustration have been published by DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Image, Dupuis, Scholastic, and many other publishers, but he's best known for his work on Whiteout, a graphic novel adapted by Warner Brothers as a feature starring Kate Beckinsale. His current project is The Fix, a crime comedy at Image Comics. His various projects have received ten Eisner Award nominations, and he won the Eisner for Best Limited Series for Whiteout Volume 2: Melt. Steve's a founding member of Helioscope, the largest studio of comic book artists in North America. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, the novelist Sara Ryan."
