Description

This was a ko-fi request doodle I'd set up a while ago earlier this month.

Marie is one of the core characters of the "Higanbana" series, a poor unfortunate girl being bullied by her classmates and molested by her teacher. One day Marie discovers she's inadvertently created a ghost story in her school, the tale of "Mesomeso-san" when some kids have overheard her desperate crying in the old school building. Marie is then approached by Higanbana, one of the youkai who haunt the school, and is asked if she has the strength to completely become Mesomeso-san.

When Marie is eventually killed by her teacher, she finds that, yes, she does have the strength to become Mesomeso-san.

From there the series explores Marie becoming a youkai and the Eighth School Mystery while also trying to use her new powers for good. This often means coming into conflict with some of the other youkai...
