Description

Here is most of the piece- it looks like it dates from the 1930s to the late 1940s- it is oil on trimmed canvas - water damaged as well as what looks like damage from being rolled. In the late 30's even major Magazines were still using duotone illustrations - by the 1940s that was limited to mostly lower end magazines - true crime magazines , liberty and sunday supplements like American Weekly.
That still leaves a lot of possibilities
If I can ID the story it might fit into the mystery art exhibit- right now it is just a mystery!
