Description

In 2016 DC celebrated the genius of Neal Adams with an awesome tribute of NA variant covers across their major titles, all based on classic NA covers from the past.

I was extremely happy to pick this up. If anything, the cover is improved even further. Cyborg is the logical choice to have a smoking hand, and the smoke at the chest of the fallen figure has been removed, providing a clearer image of the victim. Speaking of victims, I personally think the Flash figure on the ground is the star of this piece. An awkward pose and angle are masterfully executed.

I also love the Legion of Superheroes background, echoing the original.

I may be biased, but I think this is one of the best of the variants. The tribute cover from Flash 246 is from JAN 1977 - slightly older than me. That's how long Neal Adams has been killing it.

Oh, and also, it was inked by Dave frickin' Gibbons over Neal blueline.
