Castle Waiting: The Curse of Brambly Hedge, Part 3, Page 10 by Linda Medley(1996)

Castle Waiting is a fun fairy tale series with wonderful storytelling and great twists on all the old fairy tales. The first volume is especially good when it's moving fast and incorporating a lot of the classic characters.

In 2018 Linda decided to sell some original art and I was thrilled to get the complete 11-page final chapter from the opening story, The Curse of Brambly Hedge!

This is the third chapter of the Eisner-nominated story, a nicely self-contained story about when Prince Charming wakes up Sleeping Beauty and they ditch the townspeople. It's the origin of how the castle itself came to be.

VERY UNIQUE ORIGINAL ARTWORK

Linda's originals on this book are incredibly unique. The inks are drawn on graph paper taped at the top to a piece of drawing paper, which she used as a lightbox, sliding a pencil prelim between the two. It's unlike any other art I own.
