The Bradford Exchange Disneyland's 40th Anniversary 1995 Jungle Cruise Collector's Plate and Ornament Preliminary Drawing

The Bradford Exchange produced twelve limited-edition collector's plates and porcelain ornaments to celebrate Disneyland's 40th Anniversary in 1995. This 12” diameter original graphite drawing on onionskin by Alvin S. White Studio was used as a rough layout design for the sixth issue in the series, "Jungle Cruise."

The image shows Mickey Mouse and Goofy lost deep in the jungle, as Donald Duck skippers a river boat in the background. The Disney characters, hippo, elephants, and boat are pasted-on prints.

The final production cel gives Goofy a vest and a scarf to wear, rearranges the guests in the river boat, and corrects Mickey's map to read "Jungle Cruise."

Alvin S. White Studio, a graphic design company located in Burbank, California, has created many Disney-licensed consumer products over the years, including children's books (Walt Disney's Pinocchio Pop-Up Book), merchandise (Pooh & Friends porcelain keepsakes), computer software (The Walt Disney World Explorer), and record album covers (Mickey Mouse Disco).
