DescriptionJohn Watson Commission - 24" x 16" oil painting on canvas board completed in March of 2019.For my second commission with John Watson, my objective was to have the artist create a 1930s Batman fighting Two-Face and some mobsters/henchmen. This homage to the mobster era fit with Batman perfectly! Interestingly enough, the "Joker" was originally just another mobster and John mentioned that the draft pencil drawing of the henchman getting kicked by Batman was a "bit pale" and I said "I think I know why he was so pale, because he is meant to be the Joker.” John Watson willingly changed the figure to the Joker and I couldn't be happier! The process of creating this commission could not have been more pleasant! John Watson is a real professional and I'm grateful that this piece will hang in my home for years to come! Social/Sharing |
