Description

Captain America #350 serves to this day as one of my very favorite comic book issues. In fact, some of my very favorite comic books as a kid happen to be anniversary issues - Hulk 350, Thor 400, Silver Surfer 50 and 75, but Cap during this period was just one of my top reads on my pull list.

This issue was the culmination of an 18 issue arc that saw Steve Rogers quit as Cap and John Walker replace him as he ran around the country as The Captain. I really liked both characters concurrent story lines and loved the resolution and their inevitable collision from the courses they were each on. Mark Gruenwald did a fantastic job writing an immensely likable run and the art by Kieron Dwyer was some of the best ever on the title. Just a great, key climactic page as the Red Skull is revealed an escapes as the rivals for the Shield find common ground and embark on their somewhat caustic relationship.

A fantastic page from my personal favorite Cap storyline. I have to admit that the big reveal that the Red Skull was behind it all took me by surprise, as I thought there was no coming back from what happened in issue #300. This was a great conclusion to an epic story!
