Description

I was lucky enough to go backstage after The Simpsons 30th Anniversary panel at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday. There I shared with Matt Groening the four original cartoons that I had that had been drawn by his father Homer Groening. I was happy to see how excited he was to see them. I ended up saying that he could have them if I could get some art from him. He said yes, and will be sending me something else. But he said, in the meantime, he also wanted me to have something while I was there. He opened a large drawing pad that had several drawings he had prepared before the panel, and asked me to pick one. As soon as I saw Mr. Burns, I said that's the one! I didn't even see the others after burns in the pad! Because the pieces had been drawn with just a signature of "Matt G.", he also added his full signature. This is a highlight of my collection!
