I was highly disappointed when I found that you had beaten me to the punch when this page became available. The wondrously comic first panel is comic-book perfection, and the depictions of hierarchical and cross-cultural miscommunication, as well as the seeming inanity of the apology ritual to foreign eyes, are easily recognizable moments for virtually any "gaijin" who has ever spent any major time living and working in Japan.
