DescriptionThis was during that whole big "Bruce Wayne: Fugitive" crossover storyline in which he's believed to have murdered Vesper Fairchild, and here's Cassandra Cain inspecting her grave (on the comic, her name's on the gravestone; here it's left blank).Truth told, I didn't really follow that crossover much, but I loved the creepiness of Batgirl perched on a gravestone, inspecting it, shovel ready in the dark. Artistic note: Damion Scott rendered the tree in the background in a style not unlike Japanese paintings of plum trees I've seen. Given his manga influence, and affinity for Japanese culture (even living there for a bit, I believe), it's interesting to see one of the older, classical Japanese art forms, such as sumi-e painting, leaving a mark on his work as well. One of the best covers of the run IMO! Scott/Campanella so adeptly illustrated/inked that costume so it looked uniquely cool from different angles and poses. Definitley the case here with this display worthy image - congrats!

This is a wonderful cover to see. I am lucky to have an atmospheric title page from this era of Batgirl. I do not know of another era of Batgirl where the art was as edgy, and at times creepy, as when Damion Scott held the pencil. Thank you for sharing this with us!
