Description
I'm surprised there hasn't been an E! True Hollywood Story about someone who lost their life to ComicLink. Maybe it will be me...

For Heritage I like to be on the phone, but my first time with CL was somehow more exhilarating and tense. Maybe it's seeing the seconds tick down - knowing that time is inevitable, and is somebody somewhere in the world might be waiting to press a button that might destroy me?!?!

But overall a very pleasing experience, with much less juice, so ink me happy.

And of course there is this magnificent beast of a cover. I find it to be much more powerful than the finished piece (though I love the red they put in the background). There was another Deathlok/Ghost Rider DPS that was insane, and went at a very reasonable price - congrats to whomever got that. I've written in the past about my great admiration for this Deathlok series. Very pleased to have this cover. Special shout out to Kent Williams, beautiful deep blacks, and not afraid to get dirty. His painterly style works perfectly.

In a nice piece of serendipity, I got an email from Denys' rep (about an unrelated commission) literally minutes after I won this at auction.

P.S. I'm also curious about the white tape across the top - does anyone know why that was done?

Cool cover. Tape likely from an overlay that had logo on it. Bravo!

Congrats on the win!!  The tape is like white out - just used so that black line doesn’t appear when they are shooting the cover. I doubt there was ever an overlay - lettering was probably done on a computer.

Great cover image - '90s goodness!   Love the grittiness...and if there were ever 2 characters that warranted a "gritty" representation these 2 are it!  Congrats, and glad you had a fun (and exhilarating!) ComicLink experience!

Great cover!  Love the inks by a young KW, with what look like influences from Ted McKeever and Howard Chaykin to my eye

Love the team-up of Cowan and Williams here! Perfect pairing for this gritty early '90s cover.
