Description
A sort of yin-yang image of mother Sandra Wusan (Lady Shiva) and daughter, Cassandra Cain (then Batgirl).

After a metahuman had altered Cassandra's brain to process spoken language, she had lost her body language-reading skill that gave her the edge over other combatants. Her offensive skills undiminished, her defensive skills now lagged as they were reliant on her extraordinary body language intuition.

She sought, pursued, tried to fight and was easily defeated by Lady Shiva, who, unbeknownst to Cassandra, had strategically set-up the scenario to draw her in. When Cassandra awoke in an ambulance, she was still clutching a necklace belonging to Shiva, and decided it was only right to return it. :)

During that encounter, they agreed to a death duel after Cassandra had regained her skills, in a year's time. This led to Batgirl #25, and their climactic duel. There were actually two fights in that issue, one on a rooftop in which Shiva gets past Cassandra's defenses, and appears to stop her heart.

Shiva revives Cassandra in her sanctum sanctorum -- a temple devoted to worship -- of her. After a short chat over tea, they begin anew, but Shiva has revealed something in the process that Cassandra intuits, and after a fantastic final battle, Cassandra catches her off-guard by asking about her own death-wish, and is able to defeat her without killing her.
