Magic Comics #75 (1945)

I've been a fan of Chic Young's Blondie related comics/dailies for years! This piece is a Dagwood Bumstead (Blondie's husband) featured cover to Magic Comics #75 published by King Features Syndicate. Joe Musial is attributed as the artist. Musial often served as creator Young's stand-in on funny book covers. The vignette (upper right) depicts Lee Falk's Mandrake the Magician which is anther King Features trademark. Piece is ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area is 9.25" x 13" in excellent condition. As a 1945 published piece, this may be the oldest original artwork in my collection.
