From the story "...If Atlantis Should Fall!" Just a great title splash from The Defenders Vol. 1, #8, Page 1 from 1973.

This artwork was part of the "Avengers/Defenders War" storyline and featured the Red Ghost mind controlling The Sub-Mariner to attack/kill Valkyrie and Hawkeye. See editor or writer comments at the bottom of the page - "Mindless Subby attacks Hawkeye." Signed by Editor Roy Thomas.

Fantastic spalsh page! Love the visual dynamic as Namor plunges headlong through his fellow teammates.

The beginning of one of the greatest cross overs in Marvel Comics history. This amazing splash brings back so many great memories. Congratulations and color me jealous!

There's nobody better than Sal for showing wild-eyed frenzy, and what a way to start the issue than this glorious title splash! Great art from one the greatest tales ever told. Fabulous.
