Orpheus by Colleen Doran

Commissioned from Colleen in 2019 for NYCC. I have always loved the myth of Orpheus and I have always loved Colleen’s work. Although she did not draw the Orpheus stories in Sandman, I’ve always associated her with the character after seeing her great commission featuring Orpheus’ head.

When I saw her at Dragon Con on 2019 I finally had to pull the trigger on a commission of my own. In this piece Orpheus mourns the loss of Eurydice

I could not be happier with this piece-the highlight of my NYCC.
