Thor by Walt Simonson

This one took plenty of cajolling. Walt wasn't a guest at the Forbidden planet convention in New York in the Summer of '83, he was just visiting as a fan. I recognized him walking through the hotel and while getting him to sign some books for me, he started leaving through my portfolio. I asked him if by any chance he would do a sketch for me. He told me that he was rather busy starting on Thor and didn't think he would have the time. I think I asked him a couple of more times when I saw him during the weekend, and he would just smile politely and give me the same story. Lo and behold, on the final day of the convention, he walks up to me and asks if this is okay. He said he did it at home that night and brought it in hoping I would still be there. In my life, I have only seen a handful of Simonson sketches apraoching the quality of this one
