Sgt, Fury #18 page 6 - Sarge has a sweetie!

This is a great page from a moving story. All the Howlers are here, and they're needling Sarge for having an engagement ring that he plans to give to Pamela Hawley. I read these stories via battered used book store copies, but I loved the character of Pam as a kid. When I first went to England as an adult and nearly made the Yankee blunder of stepping into the wrong side of the road, I imagined it would be worth it if I landed in hospital (not "in a hospital", just "in hospital") and tended to by pretty British nurse. But then I remembered how that ended badly for Hemingway and even worse for Nick Fury, so I ruined my own fantasy before it got far along.
