Description
This page is from a two-part 1977 parody of "Star Wars" that tickled the funnybone of one George Lucas, who went on to acquire the rights to Howard and produce the ill-fated "Howard the Duck" movie in 1986. The failure of that film reportedly forced Lucas to sell off Pixar, so this story not only brought you the Howard movie, but also "Toy Story" and "Up" -- sort of.

Some great surrealistic insanity occurs in this issue, enough that you can't blame Lucas for thinking there is "something" to be had in the story of a sarcastic/heroic Duck in a World He Never Made.

This was colored when I found it, apparently by Bill Wray (who inked the issue) for Steve Gerber. Why, I cannot say. But the coloring done here is so much better than what was done for the actual book, I can't argue with it.
