Description
Frickin' Robert Fawcett! Lovely piece and boy is it big. It is on heavy illustration board and larger than just the image area. It is exciting and strange to have a piece by a craftsman you've marveled over for years. I think this piece will suffice until I find a self-portrait from him (that's a joke, sort of. I do love his self-portraits). The description attached to the piece by the prior seller reads: "Fawcett draws inspiration from Ovid's Metamorphoses in depicting the moment in which Actaeon, transformed into a stag by Diana, is devoured by his dogs, all for bearing witness to Diana's bare flesh. Created in ink over graphite on illustration board with an image area of 17" x 14". Signed in the lower right, and in Excellent condition."
