Description
So this piece makes me happy for a few reasons. A few years back, Jeff Johnson was willing to draw a character for anyone willing to donate something like $50 or more to the Hero Initiative. Well, since I have fond memories of his work on Wonderman and Solitaire, and since the Hero Initiative is one of my favorite charities, I readily donated and sent proof to Jeff. Jeff asked what character and I told him it was his choice. Soon Jeff sends a picture to me of the finished piece, a Doctor Fate, and told me he was putting it in the mail. More than a year later, the piece still hadn't arrived and I was reluctant to message Jeff because he didn't know me from Adam and could have reasonably thought I was just trying to get another piece for free. That and a donation to the organization should be reward enough. But, likely during a night of dark beers, I eventually broke down and messaged him. He readily apologized, said he would send a replacement, and it arrived within days. Seriously, what a good guy. Thanks again, Jeff.

Since this above story, I've been donating to Hero Initiative a few more times and I encourage you to consider doing the same.

Great story, obviously great guy and great artist (and he was from his beginings-I loved wonder Man and Solitaire as well).
