Spectacular Spider-Man #161 pg. 10, signed

Sal is one of those artists that sticks with you. One reason is that he has created a few iconic poses, such as the one I like to call "Sal mouth" that appears when Sal's characters are punching it out and one of them is usually flying toward the reader. Unfortunately, this is not a page with Sal mouth. But! It does have what I enjoy a lot from Sal: later Sal inking himself. And that Robbie face and hair and the couple in the foreground in the largest panel are pretty great. It's a page that makes you smile when looking at the solid nature of the craftsmanship. And then you like it even more when you remember that Sal was on constant deadline. I remember this issue from the newsstands and, when I saw it pop-up for sale by someone who regretted having to part with it, I acted on it. I felt for the seller and I thank him for taking good care of the page.
